Belhaven Brewery

Only 15 minutes drive away from Aberlady, Belhaven Brewery is the largest regional brewer in Scotland. The brewery itself dates back to 1719 making it Scotland’s oldest surviving brewery. Guided tours are available, but booking well in advance is essential.

Home of ‘The Edinburgh Malt’ is located in the farmlands of East Lothian, Pencaitland and has an excellent exhibition inside the listed red brick buildings. The exhibition is situated on the Old Malting Floors where you will be met by your guide and taken on a tour around the distillery, followed by a dram of Glenkinchie 12 year old Single Malt Whisky. Booking well in advance for tours is advisable to avoid disappointment.

The bugs and beasties exhibition features a huge collection of live creepy crawlies, snakes, frogs and lizards. It is also possible to handle some of the more friendly ones at the daily ‘meet the beasties’ sessions.

Hogmanay

Seventy saw in 2010 with dinner and dancing to Obsession at Ducks in Aberlady.  We sold out for our two night Hogmanay package (£150pp) but many came for the dinner and dancing at an amazing price of £60 per head.  

Obsession also played in the afternoon of the 1st.  Thanks to all of you who came and created a fantastic atmosphere over the two days.  A very big thak you from me to both Ros Sloan and Johhny Dunbar who ran the front of house and kitchen magnificently.

We will be doing the same again next year and will be taking bookings as of January the 11th.   Obsession's web site.
