Dirleton Castle

Dirleton Castle

Open all year round this 13th century castle is nestled beautifully in outstanding maintained gardens that include an herbaceous border that has been authenticated by the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s longest.
For 400 years, the Castle has stood as a spectacular fortress for three successive noble families. The castle grounds are home to the Ruthven dovecot which is one of the best preserved pigeon houses in Scotland and houses over 1000 nesting boxes, as well as the de Vaux towers – built around 1240 and amongst the oldest remaining castle structures in Scotland, and the Haliburton range which consists of a pretty chapel, dark pit prison and cavernous storage vaults.
The picturesque Castle and Gardens have been popular with marriage ceremonies and couples who want to add a bit of history into their special day.

Hogmanay

Seventy saw in 2010 with dinner and dancing to Obsession at Ducks in Aberlady.  We sold out for our two night Hogmanay package (£150pp) but many came for the dinner and dancing at an amazing price of £60 per head.

Obsession also played in the afternoon of the 1st.  Thanks to all of you who came and created a fantastic atmosphere over the two days.  A very big thak you from me to both Ros Sloan and Johhny Dunbar who ran the front of house and kitchen magnificently.

We will be doing the same again next year and will be taking bookings as of January the 11th.   Obsession's web site.
